This app enables turning a non-static internet connection into a reliable end point for a DNS record. Traditionally this required using a dynamic DNS service that runs upwards of $5 a month. In enters Route53; this AWS service allows anyone to host their own DNS for only $0.50 a month plus $0.40 per million requests.
The only remaining task is to maintain an A record pointed to your home IP address. That is where this application comes in. The DNS Auto Updater retrieves your public IP address and updates the DNS record of the subdomain you specify.
